Draft Spock
Just a quick post today, I’m busy working on a few final papers right now and, though I am now trying to blog every single day (you hear that, Audrey?), I’m not going to have the time for very long ones sometimes.
My pal Kendra pointed me toward a bunch of great photos today, including this this one she found on UCLA’s library website, showing protesters in 1968… picketing NBC because Star Trek had just been cancelled. Looking at the dress and demeanor of this crew, it’s pretty clear that these dudes were sitting in front of their TVs that year rather than doing other recreational activities. At any rate, I love it. I straightened the photo a little, upped the contrast a bit, and uploaded it to my site. I might make it my desktop background for a while; there’s something inspiring about this, one of the first ever attempts by a bunch of sci-fi nerds to keep a TV show on the air. And, it didn’t work (as they rarely ever do).
Okay, back to the papers!
